Going going gone...
Kaya grew up in a small town outside of Barrington, New Hampshire. Her mother and father both shared the desire for a large family. By late 94' they had managed to create a family of ten. Raised in such an environment instilled in her the values that family should always come first, and for her it always has.

In 99' when one of their son's, Paul, was hit by a drunk driver and passed away, it shook the entire family with tragedy beyond comprehension. Deciding she needed to simply get away, Kaya decided to join the peace core straight out of highschool. Essentially a compassionate and empathetic person it was only a matter of time that she decided her life and energy were better spent helping others. Because of this realization, she threw herself into the the core as well as other non-profit organizations.

When she returned home two years later, she found nothing was as she left it. Her sisters and several of her brothers had moved to the opposite coast, and the family business (an intimate, yet well-known in-home daycare) was in ruins. Devoting the next year to get it up and running again she worked side by side with her parents and younger brother to put the pieces back together.

Currently, she runs the in-home day care, while renting a small one-bedroom apartment just outside of the city. While non-profit work stills holds a place in her heart, it has taken a back seat to the business as well as school. Majoring in Neuro-psychology and finding the course work to be both time consuming and challenging, she fears she may have to give up one or the other in the near future.
